The hidden, but not so hidden gems at The Woodmere:

The beauty of The Woodmere does not start when you enter the compound but before, as you turn into the main road leading into the complex area. A stunning view greets you with rows of decadent flowers, beautiful, greenery and tall sunflowers on end. Entering the tidy compound your first view is of the neatly and individually placed apartments. Watch out! Not for the friendliest security dogs but your eyes might get blinded by the welcoming greenery; your nose breathes in the fresh air making you instantly forget that you are in the city and your body and ears become alert to the birds chirping alongside the wonderful sensation of nature all-encompassing you. Moving deeper into the groove of The Woodmere, your next breathtaking view is of the heated sparkling pool that is the center point of the entertainment area. As you continue to move around the place, taking it in, you become more and more aware of the precious hidden gems, but not so hidden if you look carefully enough, you will see that you are completely surrounded by beautiful verdure.
Some flora to see at The Woodmere and fun facts about them:
Sunflowers:

Did you know that they are actually thousands of tiny flowers? Each sunflower’s head is made of smaller flowers. The petals we see around the outside are called ray florets, and they cannot reproduce, but the disc florets in the middle, where the seeds develop, have both male and female sex organs, and each produce a seed. They can self-pollinate or take pollen blown by the wind or transported by insects. Our secret… the more sunflowers you plant the more you will end up having, no wonder The Woodmere feels like a little sunflower farm.
Birds of Paradise flower or properly known as Strelitzia reginae:

Its large colourful blossom resembles an exotic bird hence the name and this specific flower is beautifully spaced throughout the property, attracting just as many birds as the name suggests so you are guaranteed to have a fair shot at bird watching when you book a stay at The Woodmere.
Honeysuckle:

Did you know that people used to believe that flowers of honeysuckle tucked under the pillow ensures pleasant dreams? This old belief is still popular and flowers of honeysuckle are used today in the manufacture of herbal pillows, however at the Woodmere you won’t find honeysuckle sewn into your pillows but you will find it all around the compound ensuring sweet dreams and a peaceful sleep.
